* Note:  These photosimulations have been constructed using the PowerWind 71 900kW turbine as a model. The PowerWind 71 has a hub height of 71 m (232 feet).  The total height with blade pointing directly upward is 99 m (324 feet). 

For comparison purposes, the radio towers to the east and west of Eel Point Road have overall heights of 68 m (223 feet) each.  The radio tower formerly at the Madaket Landfill was 141 m (465 feet).

On Friday, February-17-2012, a group of Nantucket residents traveled to Charlemont, MA for a site visit of the PowerWind 56 at Berkshire East Ski Resort. Attending were: Jim Aylward, Karen Palmer, Kija Kim (Common Sense Nantucket), John Stover (NESC; Health Subcommittee Chair) and Lauren Sinatra (Nantucket Energy Office; Outreach Coordinator).
